Progress Update 03/08/24

Well met! It is an exciting and somewhat nerve-wracking time for me as the wheels start turning for the release of Echoes Beyond the Forest. Everything has been set up: website, social media, Amazon, but there is still so much to do!

In the time I have before October 25th, I need to start actively posting on social media and researching the ‘ARC’ situation. ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) seem to be against Amazon’s terms of service, but it’s still advised to do it—I don’t know-—more research is required. For social media, I have a thorough plan of the content I want to create and a release schedule in mind. Most of my content will be short-form videos including skits, book extracts, and lore segments. After Echoes is released, I also have some ranking series in mind and a fun ‘what-if’ series where I’ll imagine Fardenrule as an MMO.

In the meantime, I am finally ready to start writing the third book in The Cryomancer series. I can tell you absolutely nothing about it yet, but I am extremely hyped for what’s to come. But what about book 2, you ask? That is locked away in my vault as a completed second-draft manuscript. In December (roughly), I will bring it out to give it a fresh editing pass, and a thorough one at that, because I will be using my editor’s notes for Echoes as a guide for what to look out for, on top of my usual methods.

I also want to create a new series of digital paintings for a ‘locations’ page on the website. The paintings will take a while as their priority will always be below writing, but it’s something fun to slowly chip away at.

In conclusion, I should probably spend less time playing World of Warcraft and more time working, but as Jake the Dog once said, ‘You’re getting hung up on imaginary problems. You gotta focus on what’s real.’
