Progress Update 06/10/24

Well met! The release of Echoes Beyond the Forest is rapidly approaching, and it is forecast to be one of THE launches of all time. It’s okay, though. Expectations are well-tempered, and the road ahead is long and exciting.

On the social media front, I’ve been experimenting with various posts: extracts, skits, and slideshows. The quality of these posts has increased greatly over the past couple of months, and I’ve learnt a lot from making them. Unfortunately, there has been no growth in my accounts, and at this current time, I’m not sure how to break that barrier without spam following accounts in the hope that a few follow back. I don’t think that will be beneficial in the long run, so I won’t try that for now. The idea I’m settling on is by having a plethora of book-related content on my socials, I’ll be more likely to pick up followers who find my accounts by following the links at the end of my book. I expect that post-November, after the launch window, I’ll dial back the social media effort to focus on writing and editing my upcoming projects.

Another effort I’ve made to promote my book is through advanced reader copies. As of writing, my book is listed on Booksirens, and I’m hopeful to get a few reviews through that service.  The ARC campaign will be active until October 31st, as for the day after, the ebook version of Echoes will go live on Kindle Unlimited.

I believe that Kindle Unlimited will be the best and most time-optimal way to gain new readers for Echoes’ first year of release. I need to look deeper into making the most of its marketing tools, but I know you can set up special discount days that should help the book reach more readers on a semi-regular basis.

As for writing and upcoming projects, book 2 in the series will be getting a thorough edit sometime in late November, once I have completed the first draft of book 3’s second chapter. It’s been several months since I’ve looked at book 2, and I’m excited to fully immerse myself in that story, having been so focused on the first book recently. Since the last update, I also broke new ground on book 3’s major storylines and future plot points in the Cryomancer series as a whole— the story is going to get seriously epic!
